Breezy expands to Moldova: bringing affordable refurbished devices to the market

Breezy, a big player in the secondary market in Eastern-Europe and part of distributor ASBIS, has officially launched its online store in Moldova, marking the company’s third e-commerce platform in the Central and Eastern European region. This expansion follows Breezy’s previous ventures in Ukraine and Kazakhstan, where the brand has become a top choice for thousands of customers each month. Breezy’s new online store offers Moldovan customers access to a wide selection of popular smartphones from top brands like Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Oppo. The devices are available in four distinct grades—A+ (like new), A (excellent), B (good), and C (acceptable).

Expanding retail presence in Moldova

"We’re making top-notch technology more accessible by offering original equipment at prices up to 60% lower than new devices," says Mykhailo Myronov, General Manager at Breezy Moldova. "All devices are fully functional and come with a basic warranty of up to one year, at no additional cost."

Breezy takes pride in its rigorous quality control process. Every device is inspected against 55 criteria, covering aspects such as cosmetics, microphone functionality, speakers, cameras, battery condition, and connectivity. These inspections are carried out at Breezy’s high-tech European facility, which holds three international certifications: ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental impact, and ISO 27001 for information security.

Breezy’s approach combines AI with human evaluation, using Apple-certified diagnostics. a tool Breezy was the first to implement in Europe, to ensure each device meets the highest standards. Next to Breezy also NorthLadder, that recently acquired Dutch refurbisher Renewd, is using Apple’s toolkit in Europe.

Future prospects in Moldova

The online store's launch is a strategic move in Breezy's ongoing development of omnichannel sales in Moldova. Previously, Breezy's devices were available only through Maximum chain stores. "The strong demand for our products confirmed the high potential of the used gadget market in this region and motivated us to expand further," notes Ruslan Tomaschuk, Omnichannel Leader at Breezy.

Since entering the Moldovan market in early 2023, Breezy has already made a significant impact by providing trade-In services and partnering with key local retailers like Orange, Moldcell, and Apple’s authorized reseller, iSpace. The company plans to explore additional sales channels, including traditional brick-and-mortar stores in Chisinau, as it continues to grow its presence in the region.
