VodafoneZiggo has been awarded the prestigious Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, a global authority in sustainability assessments. This achievement places the telecom provider among the top 1% of companies worldwide in terms of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The recognition highlights VodafoneZiggo’s ongoing commitment to a fair and sustainable supply chain, with a strong focus on labor rights, human rights, environmental practices, and sustainable procurement.
Impressive score improvement in latest EcoVadis assessment
In the most recent evaluation, VodafoneZiggo achieved a score of 82 out of 100, marking a 10-point increase from its 2023 assessment. EcoVadis evaluates companies across four key areas: labor and human rights, environment, ethics, and sustainable procurement. VodafoneZiggo’s top-tier ranking showcases its progress in these areas, alongside other Dutch telecom networks KPN and Odido (formerly T-Mobile), which also received high ratings, with KPN earning Platinum and Odido securing Gold.
Significant progress in CSR efforts
Over the last few years, VodafoneZiggo has made significant progress in its CSR initiatives. In 2021, the company received a Silver Medal, and just three years later, it has achieved Platinum status.
VodafoneZiggo’s CSR goals
VodafoneZiggo's CSR strategy is built around three key pillars:
- Sustainable procurement: The company works closely with suppliers to meet sustainability goals, focusing on the entire supply chain, from safe working conditions to reducing environmental impact.
- Supplier engagement: VodafoneZiggo encourages suppliers to achieve at least a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis. In 2023, it assessed 299 key suppliers, with plans to increase this number to 325 in 2024 and 350 in 2025.
- Ethical and sustainable procurement code: VodafoneZiggo's suppliers must adhere to the company's code, which sets minimum standards for sustainability and ethics.
