They are packaged in special certified refurbished packaging, featuring official branding for a professional presentation. While the products may show minor cosmetic imperfections, these do not impact their overall performance. Good idea from SONY to not sell ‘as good new’, ‘like new’ pristine products. This will limit supply and make used PlayStations more expansive.

PlayStation’s 12-month warranty

Certified refurbished PlayStations come with a full 12-month factory warranty. This is less than the 24-month warranty in the EU. According to SONY this warranty ensures peace of mind, protecting consumers from potential issues. For support or inquiries about the warranty, customers can easily access PlayStation's official service request channels.

Currently we have no idea in which countries SONY is selling these devices. We checked UK and USA and like in the Netherlands SONY is offering used PlayStations through their website. Global secondary market is always looking to increase product range. Next to smartphones, computers, smartwatches and tablets, game consoles, like Nintendo, SONY and Microsoft are an almost natural fit. The same applies to for instance Dyson and SONOS. Like Apple and Samsung all premium brands.
