WeBuyAnyPhone sets new standard for trading in business phones

Everyone is familiar with sites like WeBuyAnyCar. The site offers a straightforward process for selling cars. It starts with an online valuation by entering the car details. The customer then makes an appointment at a branch for a comprehensive technical inspection. Based on this inspection, a final offer is made. Upon acceptance of the offer, the sale is completed immediately, including all administrative tasks such as issuing a certificate of indemnity. The money is deposited into the account within a few days. Convenient if you want to get rid of your car quickly. There are now many variations on this theme, not only in the Netherlands but also in most European countries.

In England, Webuyanyphone.com (WeBuyPro) has recently started operating for businesses. It's somewhat similar to its well-known counterparts, but also different. The site targets companies that want to sell used mobile phones. They cleverly address the fact that trading in used devices can be quite challenging for businesses. The devices need to be collected, inspected internally by the companies, and then sent to an external party. There is always the question of what happens to the device and whether the chosen trade-in partner is reliable, especially since business phones often contain sensitive information.

There is now a simple solution for this. InEngland, WeBuyPro comes directly to businesses in their 100% electric vehicles.On-site, the devices are inspected, and all data is immediately erased. For this, the company uses PhoneCheck and Blancco. All in all, it's straightforward, transparent, cost-effective, and safe.

Bargain or not?

To make it profitable, there is a risk thatWeBuyPro gives relatively little for a used device. But in practice, it’s notthat bad. We looked at a used Apple iPhone 11 in good condition with 64GB memory. At the Dutch trade-in company Fixje, you receive €177 for this device. In England, WeBuyPro offers even €166. €11 less, which is not bad considering the company comes to you.

Who is behind this company? The British ‘serial entrepreneurs’ Darren Ridge and Aaron Brown. They are also behindPhonesDirect. This site specializes in selling used Apple iPhones and Samsung devices collected through the site WeBuyAnyPhone from individuals and businesses.

The gentlemen have big plans for their site. The goal is to trade in 1.5 million devices worth more than €300 million by 2030. That’s 20,000 devices per month. Assuming an average trade-in volume of 100 units, that means about 10 orders per day, spread across all of England. And that is quite ambitious.
