Tripal Group B.V., the parent company of 2Service and SmartPhort, has released its first Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) report. The Dutch company plays a key role in extending the lifecycle of electronic devices across Europe, aiming to support the EU’s 2050 targets for a fully circular and climate-neutral economy.
Reducing emissions through smartphone repairs
In 2024 alone, Tripal Group’s activities facilitated the repair of at least 865,696 mobile devices. This prevented the production of roughly 1.5 million new devices, resulting in an overall CO2e reduction of 31,322,713 kg. That saving equals the annual CO2e footprint of 5,520 European citizens or the capacity of 15,661 football fields full of mature trees.
Improving part quality and logistics
The group emphasises premium-quality components that match original brand specifications. Strict quality control and a sourcing team in Shenzhen have brought the RMA for “Compatible” parts down from 3.05% in 2023 to 1.79% in 2024. An increase in sea freight over air freight resulted in 3,309 kg CO2 savings, while greener last-mile delivery options further limit emissions.
Commitment to transparency and circularity
All Mobileparts.shop components include a lifetime warranty on technical defects. Tripal Group only sources CE-certified parts and adheres to ethical business practices through its whistleblower policy and supplier code of conduct. It also partners with manufacturers to support the right to repair, such as through the SamsungSelfRepair.shop platform.
Sustainable operations and energy use
Tripal Group operates using 100% Dutch green energy, applies LED-only lighting in offices, and stores batteries per the latest PGS 37-2 standard. Its flexible working policy and electric lease cars with charging stations reduce commuting emissions. SmartPhort, part of the group, is GroenGedaan!-certified for eco-friendly business practices.

Focused on future innovations
The group is exploring 3D printing for components and aims for ISO 27001 certification by 2025. It plans to eliminate plastic from its packaging by 2027, excluding ESD bags. Tripal Group is a member of both EUREFAS and Techniek Nederland, where it contributes to circularity and the Right to Repair movement.
