Stop the presses: Lazer Herson steps down as PCS Wireless CEO, Ben Nash to return in 2026

After nearly fourteen years at PCS Wireless, CEO Lazer Herson has announced his decision to step down at the end of 2025, marking the close of a transformative era for one of the secondary mobile industry’s largest global players. The company confirmed that Ben Nash, PCS Wireless founder and former CEO, will return to the role on 1 January 2026.

A decision driven by reflection

According to Herson, the decision was deeply personal and followed months of reflection and discussions with the board. He explained that life changes had reshaped how he thought about time and priorities. With PCS Wireless in its strongest position to date, he felt it was the right time to explore new opportunities while ensuring leadership continuity.

“After discussions with the board about my desire to transition, we’ve aligned on a succession plan that ensures stability and strong leadership going forward. I’m gratified that Ben Nash has agreed to step back into the CEO role effective January 1, 2026,” Herson stated.

A journey of growth and transformation

Herson joined PCS Wireless in February 2012 and quickly became a central figure in shaping the company’s global direction. Under his leadership, PCS expanded from a fast-growing player in mobile redistribution to a leading partner for global brands, scaling its operations to reach billions in annual revenue.

“What started as a chance encounter became one of the most formative experiences of my life,” Herson reflected. “I’m deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished, navigating rapid industry changes while building an organisation that stands at the heart of the global device ecosystem.”

Acknowledging a decade of collaboration

Herson expressed deep gratitude toward PCS founders, as well as board members, for their trust and partnership throughout his tenure. He credited the team’s dedication and innovation for transforming PCS into one of the most influential companies in the refurbished and pre-owned device sector. Reflecting on his fourteen-year journey, Herson described the experience as both professionally and personally transformative. “It’s been a privilege to contribute to PCS’s massive growth and to experience the personal growth this journey demanded of me,” he said.

Looking ahead to PCS’s next chapter

As Ben Nash prepares to reassume the CEO position in 2026, Herson expressed full confidence in the company’s future. “I’ll be cheering on this team and looking forward to seeing PCS reach new heights. I know PCS’s best years are still ahead, as this is bar-none the best team in our fast-growing industry,” he said. With a strong succession plan in place and continued momentum in global device circularity, PCS Wireless appears poised to enter its next phase of growth under renewed leadership.
