Blancco Technology Group, a supplier of data erasure and IT asset lifecycle solutions, has acquired Key Deploy, a reimaging software for Windows-based assets. The tool was purchased from Blair Technology Group, a long-standing Blancco customer and a major Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher. The move is designed to streamline the refurbishing process for Windows laptops and desktops. Key Deploy automates the reinstallation of a clean Windows operating system after devices are sanitized. By incorporating it into its Intelligent Business Routing (IBR) solution, Blancco aims to cut down the time required to process, reimage, and remarket refurbished IT assets. This step brings reimaging in line with existing automation for diagnostics and data erasure.
A timely upgrade for ITAD partners
IT asset disposition (ITAD) companies often rely on manual processes or outdated tools to reimage Windows devices, which slows time-to-market. With Key Deploy, Blancco offers a more integrated solution that links directly with Microsoft licensing platforms and asset management systems. The result is a streamlined, fully documented Windows imaging step.
Windows market remains key focus
According to Global Market Insights, Windows operating systems are used in over 70% of all refurbished computers. That share supports the forecasted € 8.5 B value of the refurbished PC and laptop market by 2032. As demand grows, efficient reimaging will be a critical success factor for ITADs and refurbishers.
Stronger ITAD offering, global potential
Blancco’s CEO Lou DiFruscio said the acquisition reflects a continued focus on delivering tools that increase ITAD productivity and profitability. CTO Russ Ernst added that Blair Technology’s hands-on experience as a refurbisher helped shape a purpose-built tool. The acquisition also reinforces Blancco’s market differentiation through tested and certified compliance with global data regulations.
