Sifar expands European spare parts distribution with innovation and sustainable solutions.

With more than 20 years of experience in the smartphone and tablet repair industry, Italy-based Sifar Group has become a key reference point for spare parts distribution across Europe. Under the leadership of the two founders Giovanni and Andrea Sibilla, the company has combined quality, reliability, and innovation to expand its presence, win major distribution agreements, and align with the growing push toward sustainability and the right to repair. In this interview with SecondaryMarket.news, Sibilla explains how the market has evolved, the impact of Esprinet’s acquisition, and Sifar’s vision for the years ahead.

SecondaryMarket.news: Sifar Group has over 20 years of experience in the supply of components and spare parts for smartphones and tablets. How has the market for mobile device spare parts changed over the last two decades, and what do you see as the biggest challenges and opportunities moving forward?

Over the last two decades, the market has transformed dramatically. In the early days, it was simpler, with fewer models, less complex devices, and more standardized components. Today, smartphones and tablets are far more advanced, with each brand introducing innovations that demand specialized and highly technical spare parts. This has raised the requirements for expertise, product quality, and supply chain structure.

The main challenges lie in the rapid pace of model turnover, ensuring reliable spare parts, and meeting ever-higher quality standards. Yet, these challenges also create opportunities. Companies that offer tested components, fast delivery, and efficient logistics can stand out. Additionally, new European right-to-repair regulations are opening the door to a cultural shift: repair is set to become a natural choice again, not only for cost savings but also for sustainability.

SecondaryMarket.news: The company has been a benchmark in the repair sector and an authorized distributor for several major brands. What are the key factors that have enabled you to secure these distribution contracts and maintain your position as a market leader?

At the European level, we stand out as a leading partner thanks to the number of authorized distribution agreements we hold, including Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme, and Asus. Securing the trust of these manufacturers was not something that happened overnight; it was the result of a long journey built on consistency and credibility.

Three factors have been central to this success. First, quality and transparency have always defined our approach. We have positioned ourselves as a serious company that respects the market and carefully responds to the needs of both customers and manufacturers. Second, reliability over time has made the difference. Punctual deliveries, strong after-sales support, and the ability to handle significant volumes have proven more convincing than words. Finally, our long-term vision has gone beyond simply selling spare parts. We have invested in shared projects to ensure widespread repair availability, and in training, logistics, and digital services that comprehensively support repair centers.

SecondaryMarket.news: In 2023, Sifar Group was acquired by Esprinet, a large Italian distributor. How has this acquisition impacted Sifar's operations, and what synergies have you been able to leverage since joining the Esprinet Group?

Joining the Esprinet Group marked a real step change for us. On one hand, we have preserved our identity and strong connection to the repair sector; on the other, we now benefit from the strength of Southern Europe’s largest consumer electronics distributor — a company distinguished by its deep market knowledge, highly consolidated organizational structure, and outstanding logistics capacity, with automated warehouses covering thousands of square meters.

In practice, this means we are more structured and better equipped to handle growth, while retaining the flexibility that has always distinguished us. The objective is clear: to leverage Esprinet’s scale and expertise to accelerate development and further consolidate our position in the market.

Today, being a point of reference means never lowering our guard. Brands seek solid and innovative partners, and our commitment is to earn that trust every single day.

SecondaryMarket.news:You've expanded your distribution area throughout Europe. What was the strategy behind this expansion, and how do you tailor your services to meet the diverse needs of customers across different European regions?

Expanding into Europe was a natural step. The repair market is increasingly global, and customers expect partners to deliver consistent quality across borders. From the start, our strategy was clear: bring the Sifar model: quality spare parts, fast service, and dedicated support—beyond Italy.

Every country has its own unique characteristics, from purchasing habits to regulations and delivery expectations. To meet these diverse needs, we have built a multilingual sales team (Italian, English, French, Arabic, German, Spanish, and Portuguese), flexible logistics, multilingual digital platforms, and a customer service team that provides personalized support.

Our approach is unified by a commitment to quality, while remaining adaptable to local market demands, ensuring that every customer feels “at home.” This balance of solidity and flexibility has allowed us to grow, strengthen our reputation, and firmly establish our presence across Europe.

SECONDARYMARKET.NEWS: Your B2B platform manages over 20,000 references and processes several hundred orders daily. What role does technology play in your logistics and order management, and what advancements are you planning for the future?

Technology is the backbone of our operations. With more than 20,000 active references and hundreds of daily orders, speed and accuracy would be impossible without advanced digital systems. Our proven B2B platform allows real-time management of availability, orders, and shipments, giving customers a constantly updated overview.

Looking ahead, we are investing in automation and artificial intelligence: smarter warehouses, more precise demand forecasting, and advanced tracking systems. These innovations aim to minimize errors, accelerate processes, and deliver an even more seamless experience to repair centers.

For us, technology is not just a support tool but the engine that drives growth and creates lasting value for our partners.

SecondaryMarket.news: Sifar's mission is to promote a sustainable use of mobile devices by repairing them. How do you view the "right to repair" movement, and what part does Sifar play in advancing this?

The “right to repair” is above all a cultural revolution, not only a regulatory one. Repairing is no longer just about saving money; it is about taking responsibility for the environment and respecting consumers’ right to extend the life of their devices.

This philosophy has always been part of Sifar’s DNA. For more than twenty years, we have supported repair centers with guaranteed spare parts, both original and compatible, ensuring quality and safety. Our role is twofold: making professionals’ work simpler and more efficient, while also fostering a culture of sustainability that values repair and builds trust among those who choose it.

We believe the future of the sector begins here: less waste, more transparency, and a supply chain that puts both the customer and the environment at its center.

SecondaryMarket.news: The company offers a wide range of products, including spare parts, accessories, and services. Can you elaborate on the "+EGO" brand and the "EasyFit" service?

The +EGO brand was created to provide a complete range of quality accessories at competitive prices, serving both repair centers and retail outlets. The collection covers charging and connectivity products, protection, audio, and many other items that complement the repair experience.

EasyFit, another proprietary brand, was designed to further support industry professionals. It offers a professional on-demand service for applying, protecting, and customizing films for smartphones and tablets. Powered by a proprietary app developed in Italy and backed by a constantly updated device database, EasyFit removes the need for stock, optimizes display space, and eliminates obsolescence risks—ensuring no sale is ever lost.

The protective films are crafted from high-resistance materials, offering thin, ultra-transparent protection fully compatible with the latest fingerprint readers. Alongside LCD protection, the range also includes films with exclusive designs and graphics, giving customers the option to personalize their devices.

SecondaryMarket.news: Sifar serves a variety of customer types, including repair companies, repair shops, wholesalers, retailers, and refurbishers. What are the unique needs of each customer group, and how do you address them?

Each customer group has distinct needs, and recognizing these differences is essential to providing the right support.

Repair centers and hubs require spare parts that are readily available and consistently reliable to ensure fast, safe repairs. They benefit from a wide product range, rapid deliveries, intuitive digital platforms, and specialized technical assistance for complex interventions.

Wholesalers and retailers prioritize volumes, competitive terms, and supply continuity. For them, we design tailored agreements and logistics solutions that guarantee consistency and efficiency.

Refurbishers demand certified, high-quality components along with tools and services that ensure both safety and performance. They also need large, carefully selected volumes to maintain their high standards. To meet these expectations, we provide dedicated batches, rigorous selection processes, and expert consultation.

In short, we listen closely to every customer and tailor our services accordingly: combining quality, speed, and support to help each of them perform at their best.

SecondaryMarket.news: How do you stay ahead of market trends, especially with the rapid evolution of mobile device technology?

Keeping pace with a market that evolves so quickly is a daily challenge. We address this through three main levers: constant monitoring, continuous training, and close collaboration with manufacturers—combined with active information sharing with our customers. By closely tracking technological developments and anticipating changes, we ensure that our partners are always prepared for what comes next.

SecondaryMarket.news: The company's facility is a 1,500 sqm facility in Concorezzo, just outside Milan. What are the advantages of this location, and how does your physical infrastructure support your business model?
Our headquarters in Concorezzo, near Milan, offers significant strategic advantages both logistically and operationally. Proximity to a major hub like Milan ensures fast deliveries across Italy and, thanks to excellent connections with key airports and highways, also enables efficient distribution throughout Europe.

The 1,500 sqm facility allows us to operate a large, well-organized warehouse housing over 20,000 references. It is equipped with digital platforms for real-time order management and dedicated areas for quality control. This infrastructure is specifically designed to support a business model focused on speed, efficiency, and personalized customer service, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

SecondaryMarket.news: With over 20,000 product references, how do you manage inventory and ensure "stock always available" for your customers?

Managing such an extensive inventory demands both organization and technology. We rely on advanced digital systems that track stock in real time, forecast demand, and automate reorders.

Additionally, our warehouse is optimized for efficient picking and shipping, ensuring products are readily available for customers and minimizing any waiting times.

SecondaryMarket.news: Your company has a strong focus on quality control and parts testing. Can you walk us through the quality assurance process for the spare parts you distribute?

Quality is a cornerstone of our business. Every component, whether original or compatible, undergoes strict control procedures before distribution.

For original spare parts, we comply with the manufacturers’ standards and certifications, ensuring full traceability and authenticity. For compatible parts—mainly for Apple products—we work with carefully selected partners in China who conduct on-site inspections. These parts then undergo additional visual and functional testing in our internal laboratories to ensure they meet our quality requirements.

This two-tier verification process allows us to provide reliable, safe products, reducing return rates and boosting customer satisfaction. Any issues that arise are promptly handled through an automated RMA system, supported by our technical team. Over time, this commitment has distinguished us not only in sales but also in after-sales service.

SecondaryMarket.news: Sifar also distributes original spare parts for other brands. How do you determine which new brands to partner with, and what is your process for securing new distribution agreements?

Our choice of partner brands is guided by careful market analysis and a deep understanding of our customers’ needs. We continuously monitor the smartphone sector, assessing both the volume of devices in circulation and the growth potential of different brands. This proactive approach helps us identify manufacturers that can add real value to our offering.

Securing new distribution agreements follows a rigorous process. We focus on building solid, transparent relationships with manufacturers, highlighting our proven reliability and efficient distribution model.

Simultaneously, we continue investing in the development and testing of our compatible spare parts—particularly LCDs and batteries for Apple devices, which remain a key part of our range. This approach allows us to offer customers comprehensive solutions, combining high-quality original and compatible components.

SecondaryMarket.news:Looking ahead, what are the primary goals for Sifar Group in the next 3–5 years? Are there any new markets, products, or services you plan to explore?

Over the next 3–5 years, our goal is to consolidate Sifar’s position as a leading reference in the European spare parts distribution market, pursuing steady growth in both volumes and market share. Being part of a strong group like Esprinet also allows us to evaluate strategic investments and potential acquisitions thoughtfully.

We aim to strengthen collaborations with manufacturers to expand the availability of original spare parts while maintaining the highest standards for certified-quality compatible components. At the same time, we are enhancing our services through digital platforms integrated with AI, faster logistics, and optimized warehouse operations.

We are also exploring new markets and niche segments, while expanding our portfolio to include components and accessories for emerging technology devices. In short, our ambition is to be more than a spare parts supplier—we strive to be a complete, reliable partner for businesses in repair and refurbishment.
