September top 5 of most traded-in smartphones

Every month, the American company PrologMobile processes millions of used mobile devices through its platform, leveraging data based on the IMEI numbers of these devices. This process generates an extensive pool of data points, providing deep insights into the used mobile device supply chain. PrologMobile’s analysis of these data points helps the company identify critical trends and patterns within the American secondary market, making it a valuable resource for industry professionals.

According to PrologMobile, the Apple iPhone 11 was the most traded-in device in September, overtaking the iPhone 13, which had held the top spot for the previous three months. In September, the iPhone 13 ranked as the second most traded-in Apple device. The rest of the top five remained unchanged from August. The surge in Apple iPhone 11 trade-ins was driven by the release of the iPhone 16, which sparked a new wave of older device upgrades.

For Android devices, the top five traded-in models in September closely mirrored August's rankings, with some changes in position. The Samsung Galaxy A14 took the top spot, pushing the Galaxy A03 to second place, reversing their positions from August. The Galaxy A15 remained in third, while the fourth and fifth rankings swapped places. As usual, no other brands besides Samsung appeared in the top five most traded-in Android devices.
