Save expands in Spain with new partner model

Repair chain Save, with shop in France, Spain and Poland is moving forward with its plans to expand its business model in Spain. The company, known for repairing electronic devices and selling refurbished equipment, aims to have a Save in every Spanish provincial capital by the end of the year. To achieve this, it is opening new street-level stores to increase brand awareness and launching the Save Partner certification program for B2B repair services.

Aiming to lead the refurbished market

Rodrigo Balassi, CEO of Save for the Iberian market, has emphasized that one of the company’s main objectives is to become a reference for customers in the refurbished electronics industry. Save is focused on strengthening its position by offering high-quality refurbished devices with a two-year warranty, extendable to three years.

Customer trust and market education

Despite the growing demand for refurbished electronics—currently accounting for 7% of the market—consumer trust remains a challenge. Many customers hesitate due to a lack of knowledge about the quality of replacement parts. Save is working to educate customers by demonstrating the use of original or high-quality components, aiming to change perceptions of refurbished devices.

Diversified product offerings

Save not only provides repair services but also sells both second-hand and refurbished devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and accessories. Many customers enter stores seeking repairs but end up purchasing refurbished devices at a lower cost than new ones, benefiting from guaranteed quality and an upgrade opportunity.

Strengthening B2B and franchise network

The company successfully met its 2024 B2C sales targets and expanded its team to 120 professionals. In the B2B segment, Save is advancing more gradually due to lengthy negotiations and the need to educate corporate clients on the advantages of refurbished electronics. The company has appointed an experienced professional to develop this business segment and highlight its unique offerings, such as in-store spare part availability and comprehensive repair and sales solutions.

New store openings and franchise growth

To accelerate expansion, Save is launching new stores in shopping centers like Carrefour and promoting its franchise model, aiming to reach 70 locations across Spain. Upcoming openings include two standalone stores in Madrid, with plans to expand into Barcelona and Málaga. The company also encourages former employees to join as franchisees, underscoring the business model’s appeal.

Introducing the Save Partner program

Save’s new Save Partner initiative certifies select repair shops to meet its service standards for corporate clients. These partners receive training and must use Save-approved parts, gaining access to commissions, discounted refurbished devices, and increased visibility on Save’s website and social media.

Future expansion beyond Spain

The Save Partner project, launched last year, has already established its first certified store in Zaragoza. The recruitment process is ongoing, with candidates undergoing evaluation before receiving marketing, sales, and technical support. Looking ahead, Save plans to expand into Portugal and the Benelux region in the second half of the year.
