As part of its annual Earth Day initiative, Samsung USA has added the Galaxy S24 series to its Certified Re-Newed program. In what has become a predictable April tradition, Samsung is offering refurbished flagship smartphones, but this year’s pricing has raised some eyebrows. We know Samsung is extending their Re-Newed scheme from South Korea to the USA. And beyond? When is Samsung rolling Re-Newed out globally?
Prices climb despite eco focus
The Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S24 line-up includes all three models: the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. These devices, refurbished by Samsung and partner Apkudo, include a one-year warranty and One UI 7 out of the box. However, prices are significantly higher than last year’s Galaxy S23 refurbished models.
Premium pricing, recycled hardware
Despite the promise of sustainability, many buyers might balk at paying near-flagship prices for year-old devices. Samsung does offer a € 230 trade-in incentive in the US, but it may not be enough to justify the jump.
