Samsung Electronics has announced its Eco Service Partners for 2024, marking the third consecutive year of recognizing companies for their environmental initiatives. The award-winning firms are setting a critical example for corporate environmental responsibility, with more companies meeting the increasingly stringent criteria. This year, ten companies were recognized, four more than two years ago, and three of these companies—CTDI GmbH, CTDI Spain S.L., and KOMSA Services GmbH—achieved the prestigious Platinum status for the first time. Isomedia Karlsruhe GmbH, part of Dis-Connect group of companies, remained a Gold partner.
Strong focus on measurable environmental goals
Samsung’s Vice President of Service, Andreas Beck, highlighted the importance of concrete environmental outcomes rather than vague commitments. He reiterated Samsung’s own commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions for its entire Consumer Electronics division by 2030 and transitioning all global locations to 100% renewable energy by 2027. These ambitious goals set the benchmark for the company's partners, who are expected to provide quantifiable results during the 2024-2025 period. Despite the stricter criteria this year, achieving Platinum status sends a powerful message about the effectiveness of corporate environmental strategies.
A rigorous qualification process
Participation in Samsung’s Eco Service Partner program is voluntary, but companies undergo a comprehensive audit every two years. The 2024 program evaluated firms across 24 criteria, awarding up to 500 points in categories such as "organization," "energy and climate protection," "resources," and "waste management." A new criterion introduced this year includes risk management for extreme weather events.
To qualify, companies must meet all basic criteria and score at least 250 points. This includes setting measurable environmental goals, providing detailed reports on annual energy consumption, and offering data on waste reduction and disposal. Companies are awarded Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum status based on their performance.
Expanding the eco network
In addition to the three Platinum awardees, seven other firms were recognized, representing a wide range of company sizes and environmental accomplishments. These include CTDI Poland Sp. z o.o., CTDI Soemmerda GmbH, Isomedia Karlsruhe GmbH, LetMeRepair GmbH, LetMeRepair Rhein-Main GmbH, Neumann+Krause GmbH, and Service Center Baumeister GmbH & Co. KG. Notably, four companies improved their status from the previous period, reflecting the growing importance of environmental practices across the industry.
Companies awarded the Eco Service Partner status are granted the use of the program’s logo and receive marketing and promotional support from Samsung.
