Renow, a Nordic recommerce startup, has secured €1.8 million in seed funding to scale its AI-based returns and resale platform across Northern Europe. The company plans to open new operational hubs in Sweden and Norway, with further expansion targeted in Denmark and the Benelux region.
Investors back circular business model
The investment round was led by Greencode Ventures, with participation from existing investors Superhero Capital and Street smart Capital. The funding will support Renow’s growth in logistics partnerships and sales development, as well as further technical enhancements of its AI-driven infrastructure.
AI platform supports entire return cycle
Renow offers retailers an end-to-end solution for handling returns, including remote diagnostics, automated grading, and resale through either its own outlet or white label marketplaces. Its agentic AI helps guide customers, warehouse staff, and sales channels through each phase of the reverse logistics process, significantly reducing manual workloads.
Resale focus includes Apple iPhones
With a strong emphasis on electronics and hard goods, including Apple iPhones, Renow’s model targets the high-value segment of the recommerce industry. All items processed through its platform receive an AI-generated product card and come with a standard 12-month warranty for buyers.
Positioned against bulk resale models
Renow differentiates itself from traditional bulk resale operators by supporting decentralised returns processing via third-party logistics partners. This allows retailers to process returned items closer to the end customer, improving turnaround times and cutting costs.
Circular economy drives business case
According to CEO and Co-Founder Kalle Koutajoki, Renow aims to eliminate inefficiencies in the second-cycle product chain. “Returns are costly and slow. We turn them into commercially viable resale opportunities,” he said.

Large market opportunity in Europe
The addressable market for returns and resale in Europe is estimated at over €160 billion, combining ecommerce returns and the second-hand market. Renow addresses both areas through scalable infrastructure and AI tools that allow retailers to monetise returned goods more effectively.
Growth continues across the Nordics
Renow is currently growing at 6x year-over-year, supporting major Nordic ecommerce and retail partners. The company’s vision is to embed recommerce infrastructure directly into the ecommerce stack, making product reuse a native, profitable part of the digital retail experience.
