Danish Renewtech acquires British Intelligent Servers

Renewtech has acquired Harrogate-based Intelligent Servers, bringing the UK refurbished IT specialist into its Denmark-headquartered group. The acquisition is designed to expand Renewtech’s European footprint, increase stock breadth and accelerate delivery for EU customers by enabling shipments from a Denmark warehouse that avoid import VAT and customs delays.

Benefits for customers

Customers will gain access to a wider range of vendor stock including Dell, Lenovo, Fujitsu and IBM, and more competitive pricing driven by Renewtech’s scale and supplier relationships. Intelligent Servers’ management has reassured clients that operational continuity will be maintained while product choice expands.

Background to Intelligent Servers

Intelligent Servers was founded by Andy Hughes and has built a reputation supplying refurbished servers, storage, networking and components across Europe. The business has been active for around 20 years and has scaled significantly in recent years. "Joining forces with Renewtech opens up new opportunities for Intelligent Servers and our customers. While we remain the same trusted team, we now have access to broader resources and capabilities that will allow us to serve our customers even better”, Andy Hughes, Managing Director, Intelligent Servers.

Transaction timing

The acquisition was completed in late November 2025. The deal value was not publicly disclosed.

Operational alignment and future plans

Intelligent Servers will continue to operate as a trusted UK platform within the group while contributing its expertise to Renewtech’s wider technical R&D and product engineering work. Senior management from Intelligent Servers will remain in place to support ProServices, End User teams and integrated product offerings.

Sector implications

The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation in the refurbished enterprise IT market as firms seek scale, vendor diversification and closer cross-border logistics to reduce total cost of ownership for corporate buyers. For the secondary market this consolidates supply while improving availability of certified refurbished hardware across Europe.

What readers should watch

Market observers should watch integration of supply chains, pricing trends for key OEM lines such as Dell, and whether Renewtech uses the deal as a platform for further bolt-on acquisitions in 2026.
