Austrian refurbished marketplace Refurbed has officially launched its operations in the Czech Republic as part of its Eastern European expansion strategy. Following a successful trial period, the company celebrated its full-scale entry with a launch event in Prague, attracting national media attention and significant consumer interest. By offering refurbished and used electronics at prices 20–40% lower than new products, Refurbed appeals to Czech consumers who prioritize affordability. At least this is Refurbed’s goal.
Czech market: A gateway to Eastern Europe
Refurbed’s Czech entry is viewed as a springboard for further expansion in Eastern Europe. The company currently operates in 12 countries, including Germany, Sweden, and Ireland, and is profitable in markets where it has been active for at least two years. With over € 1 billion in revenue across all markets, the company plans to maintain its growth trajectory while expanding its product range to include items like refurbished e-bikes and sports equipment.
Investment fuels ambitious expansion
With over US$ 130 million raised in five investment rounds, Refurbed continues to scale. Refurbed’s mission is to redefine consumer electronics by making sustainability accessible and affordable. “Sustainability is usually more expensive,” said CEO Kaminski, “but we’ve built a model that lets people do good for the planet while saving money.”
