Recommerce, a European leader in trade-in, refurbishment and resale of consumer electronics, has entered into a strategic partnership with Xiaomi. The collaboration integrates trade-in programs directly into the customer journey on Xiaomi product pages across Europe, helping consumers upgrade easily while reducing electronic waste. Since May 2025, trade-in options have been live on Xiaomi’s European product pages. Customers purchasing a new device are immediately offered the possibility to trade in their used smartphone. By entering the characteristics and condition of the device, consumers receive an estimated trade-in value. Once Recommerce inspects the device, the value is confirmed and paid out, creating a streamlined and user-friendly process.
Expansion across European markets
The program is being rolled out in 12 key European countries, including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, the UK, Romania, Sweden, Austria and the Czech Republic. In addition, Hungary has already been added to the list. This widespread rollout underscores both companies’ commitment to driving adoption of circular solutions in Europe.
A win-win for both companies
For Recommerce, the partnership connects it with a fast-growing brand that is gaining significant traction among European consumers. In the second quarter of 2025, Xiaomi shipped 42.4 million smartphones worldwide, marking its eighth consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth. This cooperation further strengthens Xiaomi’s customer offering while underlining Recommerce’s role as a trusted partner for global technology leaders.
Commitment to sustainability and value
Augustin Becquet, CEO of Recommerce, emphasized the shared mission behind the partnership: “We are delighted to work with Xiaomi to bring European consumers an integrated and user-friendly trade-in solution. This program perfectly matches our ambition to make circular economy practices accessible and valuable for everyone.”
By combining Xiaomi’s expanding reach with Recommerce’s expertise in trade-in and refurbishment, the initiative is set to redefine how European customers experience smartphone upgrades while reducing e-waste.
