Recommerce Group, the European pioneer in trade-in and refurbishment, has partnered with Euronics, one of Europe’s largest consumer electronics retail groups, to expand access to sustainable technology across the continent. Since March 2025, the partnership has gone live in Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland, combining Recommerce’s circular expertise with Euronics’ vast retail network.
Trade-in made simple and accessible
At the heart of the collaboration is a turnkey trade-in solution enabling customers to return used devices for financial compensation, both in-store and online. This seamless process increases consumer purchasing power while reducing e-waste — a win-win model aligned with the EU’s green ambitions and growing consumer awareness.
Certified refurbished smartphones available
In addition to trade-ins, Euronics stores and digital platforms now offer Recommerce’s “RECQ”-certified refurbished smartphones, including models like the Apple iPhone. Each device undergoes 56 quality checks and is backed by a two-year warranty, making the resale offer both reliable and appealing to eco-conscious customers.

Expanding access to responsible tech
This strategic alignment allows Recommerce to tap into millions of Euronics customers, significantly scaling its refurbished product reach. For Euronics, it strengthens their sustainability mission with tangible action that aligns with shifting customer expectations.
Demand grows for second-hand devices
Recommerce’s own data shows that 55% of European consumers are open to buying refurbished smartphones, and 36% plan to trade in old ones. These numbers highlight a meaningful change in mindset — from linear to circular tech consumption.
Next step: trade-ins for laptops
Looking ahead, the two companies plan to launch a trade-in program for MacBooks and PCs in Italy. This next step reflects their shared goal to broaden access to affordable, sustainable electronics beyond smartphones.
A shared vision for sustainability
Both companies emphasize the importance of shared values. “Together, we’re making it easier than ever for consumers to return their devices responsibly,” said Euronics CEO John Olsen. Recommerce CEO Augustin Becquet added that the partnership affirms a joint commitment to innovation and sustainability.
