UK-based recommerce platform Reboxed has announced a strategic partnership with leading British refurbisher MTR Group to accelerate its goal of rehoming 100 million devices and reducing e-waste across Europe. Founded in 2011 and operating from a facility in Harlow, Essex, MTR Group specializes in reverse logistics, repairs, and refurbishment of mobile devices. Acquired in 2017 by distribution giant Exertis, MTR has become a vital player in the secondary tech market, known for high-quality standards and Samsung repair accreditation.
Strategic alignment on sustainability goals
Both companies share a strong commitment to circularity and sustainability. According to Reboxed CEO Phil Kemish, the partnership will help scale supply of premium refurbished devices while increasing affordability and access for customers. James Goddard, MTR Group’s Managing Director, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the companies’ shared mission in driving responsible tech consumption.
Positive impact on device variety and pricing
The collaboration is expected to significantly increase inventory availability and offer customers greater variety of Samsung smartphones and other top-tier devices. MTR’s refurbishment capabilities and Exertis-backed logistics network give Reboxed an edge in maintaining consistent quality at competitive pricing.
Steady growth for MTR Group
