Greek trade-in specialist Pandas has won Deutsche Telekom’s 2025 Green Future Award in the Circularity category. The award was announced during the annual Telekom Campus Fair, held in Bonn on 3 July. Pandas’ winning entry was its new Vision A.I. solution, a fully automated trade-in tool designed to reduce friction and boost scale in mobile phone reuse.
No hardware beyond an Apple iPad
The Athens-based company showcased Pandas Vision A.I. for the first time at MWC 2025 in Barcelona. Unlike traditional trade-in kiosks, that require sometimes bulky hardware, the Pandas system runs solely on an Apple iPad. This makes the solution cost-efficient and quick to deploy across retail environments, with minimal space and training requirements.
Green Future Awards promote circularity
Now in its fourth year, Deutsche Telekom’s Green Future Best Practice Awards recognise partners contributing to Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission reductions, as well as sustainable product lifecycles. The Circularity category in particular celebrates companies that enable more responsible consumption models in telecom and electronics.
Built around reuse and automation
Pandas’ core model focuses on encouraging consumers to return their old phones through convenient instore trade-in solution. The company’s philosophy, “Buy one, Trade one,” aligns with growing consumer interest in circular alternatives. Vision A.I. extends this strategy by introducing AI-driven diagnostics and instant grading, improving both speed and scalability.
Other finalists in the spotlight
Pandas was selected from a shortlist that also included CTDI, TKD, and a collaborative entry from Sagemcom, Infineon Technologies, Citronics and Fairphone. The Circularity category was judged by Deutsche Telekom executives Melanie Kubin-Hardewig and Beatrice Felder.
