Orange Poland and Breezy launch innovative smartphone trade-in solution

Orange Poland, in partnership with Breezy, has launched the country’s first fully online, instant, and real-time smartphone trade-in service. This marks a significant milestone in Central and Eastern Europe, positioning Orange as the only Polish operator to offer such an advanced online buyback solution.

Seamless and instant customer experience

With this new service, customers can instantly apply the value of their old device toward the purchase of a new one, even before sending the device back. The trade-in journey is fully digital but remains available in Orange stores for those who prefer an in-person experience. The initiative is designed to align with Orange Poland’s vision of creating a seamless and customer-centric journey.

Exclusive promotions for new smartphones

As part of the launch, Orange Poland is offering additional discounts on selected new smartphones, including models from Samsung, Motorola, and Xiaomi. This promotional approach strengthens the appeal of the new trade-in solution while encouraging more customers to participate in sustainable device exchange practices.

Breezy’s role and technological expertise

Breezy, a subsidiary of the ASBIS Group, has provided the technological backbone for this project. The company recently opened an advanced automated refurbishment facility in Raszyn, Poland. The site features artificial intelligence and robotics for smartphone grading and refurbishment, with the capacity to process one million devices annually and refurbish up to 320,000. By combining automated testing, data erasure, and AI-driven inspections, Breezy ensures that devices meet high quality standards.

Industry 5.0 and sustainability

The Raszyn facility highlights Industry 5.0 principles, blending human expertise with robotics for efficiency and sustainability. In 2024, Breezy refurbished more than 300,000 smartphones, helping reduce CO2 emissions by over 20,000 tons. Its scalable infrastructure is designed to support further growth, while also offering device grading as a service for other industry players.

Strengthening Poland’s secondary market

This partnership between Orange Poland and Breezy reflects the growing maturity of the Polish secondary smartphone market. With increasing consumer demand for affordable and sustainable options, this fully online trade-in and buyback service sets a new benchmark. It demonstrates how operators can combine customer convenience, sustainability, and advanced technology to strengthen their competitive position.
