To provide faster and cost-effective repair services, the French telecom giant Orange has partnered with smartphone repair specialist Save. Through this collaboration, Orange customers can conveniently access one of the 130 Save shops across France for on-site mobile repairs without the need to send their devices away. This approach not only saves time and money but also significantly reduces the environmental impact associated with device transportation.
Orange customers enjoy several exclusive advantages under this partnership. These include express repair services, with 60% of repairs completed within two hours, access to high-quality spare parts, and a 20% discount on repair costs. Additionally, customers can receive a special French € 25 repair bonus. This initiative by the French government helps to extend lifespan of smartphones.
Part of Orange’s circular economy program
The development of Orange’s repair service is part of its “Re” circular economy program, launched in 2020. The initiative aims to improve access to repair services, trade-in programs, recycling, and refurbished mobile devices, supporting a more sustainable and resource-efficient technology ecosystem.
Orange has set an ambitious target to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2040. The advancement of its circular economy strategy is expected to contribute 20% to 30% toward reducing Scope 3 emissions by 2030. Key objectives include eco-designing products, extending their lifespan, selling used smartphones, and actively promoting equipment reuse and trade-ins, demonstrating Orange’s commitment to sustainability.
