Dutch telecom provider Odido, formerly T-Mobile the Netherlands has received the prestigious Platinum status from EcoVadis, a global authority in sustainability ratings. This recognition highlights Odido’s strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. With this achievement, Odido joins the top 1% of companies worldwide in sustainability performance, alongside other Dutch operators KPN and Vodafone.
Significant improvements across all areas
EcoVadis evaluates companies on four key themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Odido has made significant progress in all these areas compared to last year when it earned a Gold rating. The provider was particularly praised for having its greenhouse gas emissions independently verified by an external auditor. Additionally, EcoVadis recognized Odido’s extensive policies on ethical conduct, workplace safety, and efforts to facilitate sustainable phone usage for customers.
Outstanding environmental performance
Odido excelled in environmental impact, scoring an impressive 94 out of 100 points. This result reflects the company’s ambitious sustainability goals, including reducing its own greenhouse gas emissions by 95% by 2028. Initiatives such as using 100% renewable electricity, electrifying its vehicle fleet, and eliminating new plastic packaging in its logistics chain contribute to this success. Recently, Odido also committed to sourcing green energy from a new wind farm in Zeeland for the next ten years.
CEO emphasizes continuous improvement
Odido’s CEO, Søren Abildgaard, emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability: "We are making increasingly sustainable choices for both people and the environment. This Platinum rating proves that we take our ambitions seriously. The EcoVadis assessment provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of our initiatives and helps us improve even further."
