MySwooop and Euronics expand trade-in service online in Germany

MySwooop has announced a major milestone in its partnership with Euronics, one of Germany’s leading consumer electronics cooperatives. The companies have extended their joint trade-in service, previously available in more than 250 retail stores across Germany, to include a fully integrated online option. This expansion allows Euronics customers to value their old devices digitally and immediately offset the trade-in amount when purchasing new technology. Customers can also choose to receive the payout in cash or as a store voucher.

Trade-in as a new form of payment

The collaboration builds on MySwooop’s “Trade-In as a Service” model, which integrates smoothly into retail operations. It positions device trade-in not merely as a sustainability initiative but as a modern payment method. Customers can bring in their old devices, receive an instant valuation, and use the trade-in value toward their new purchase. The system combines convenience, sustainability, and economic value for both consumers and retailers.

Boosting in-store experiences

While e-commerce continues to grow, this model offers a strong advantage to physical retail. According to Statista, 53% of customers seek in-store advice but finalize purchases online, often due to price differences. The trade-in service changes that dynamic. By applying the trade-in value, the perceived purchase price becomes more competitive than many online offers, increasing the likelihood that consumers will complete their purchase in-store.

A win-win for sustainability and sales

The initiative delivers benefits on multiple fronts. For Euronics, it attracts younger, tech-savvy customers and drives additional foot traffic into stores. For MySwooop, it strengthens its role as a facilitator of circular technology. And for the environment, it ensures that more devices are reused or responsibly recycled rather than discarded. The approach creates a win-win-win: enhanced customer satisfaction, greater profitability for retailers, and measurable contributions to the circular economy.

A proven model enters new territory

Trade-in programs have long been established in the automotive sector, where customers offset the cost of a new vehicle with their old one. MySwooop and Euronics are now applying this proven model to consumer electronics. By connecting online and offline retail through a sustainable service, both partners are helping redefine how technology products are bought, valued, and reused in Germany.
