Loopia, the Swiss based software company known for powering successful resale platforms across Europe, has launched a new plug-and-play trade-in platform. The solution allows retailers and brands to repurchase used goods directly from consumers—without the complexity usually associated with trade-in processes.
Calumet first to adopt platform
German photo and video specialist Calumet is the first retailer to implement the new trade-in feature. The goal: to boost the number of second-hand acquisitions while simplifying customer experience online and in-store. According to Calumet, Loopia's solution has already led to more efficient operations, lower costs, and better usability for both customers and staff.
A complete recommerce toolkit
Loopia’s new trade-in module is part of a broader all-in-one recommerce suite. It supports peer-to-peer resale, B-stock sales, and now direct customer trade-ins. Retailers gain a valuable tool for customer retention while unlocking new circular revenue models.
Driving upgrades and resale margins
For consumers, the platform offers an easy and affordable way to upgrade. By trading in used items, shoppers receive instant credit toward new purchases, leading to higher conversion rates for retailers. Especially in industries with narrow margins, this dual stream of new and resale income makes a real impact.
Customer loyalty through circularity
“Resale strengthens customer relationships,” says Philipp Glauser, Loopia’s Co-Founder. “Customers who trade in with the retailer stay within that ecosystem and return again.”
