The Repair Academy has announced the appointment of Paul-Arno Garrido as Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a decisive step in its journey toward becoming a global player in repair training and certification. After more than a decade of professional collaboration, Garrido joins forces with founder Alexandre Isaac, first through iSpart Europe and now to strengthen The Repair Academy’s core operations.
From solid foundations to global reach
The new COO will focus on building structural robustness and driving The Repair Academy’s international scale. The company, originally rooted in France, has already taken its first steps abroad, including a strategic partnership with iFixit and the successful delivery of a full training session in the United States in July 2025. Garrido’s international background, including time at the University of California, Berkeley, provides valuable expertise as the organisation expands into new markets.
Focused on standardisation and development
Under Garrido’s operational leadership, The Repair Academy is entering a two-phase plan: first, a deep structural phase, followed by a massive development period. The goal is clear: to standardise, optimise, and expand the training ecosystem for the global repair industry.
Expanding training and recruitment services
The Repair Academy’s ambitions for 2025–2026 include becoming a central recruitment hub for repair professions through its Jobs platform (developed with Piloty), broadening its training programmes to cover PCs, power electronics, and gaming consoles, and building strong partnerships across all segments of the repair ecosystem. Current partners include UTOPYA, Aldric Meneghel, Maxime Dehon, and Inventec Performance Chemicals, with more collaborations expected.
A vision focused on people and skills
For founder Alexander Isaac, the appointment of Paul-Arno Garrido is not just about management but about strengthening the company’s human and technical foundation. The Repair Academy aims to evolve from a small training centre into a key link in the global circular economy, promoting repairability and technical excellence through education. Upcoming initiatives include translating its training content into multiple languages and expanding throughout Europe.
Looking ahead
The Repair Academy’s next announcements promise to reinforce its dynamic positioning within the sustainable tech and repair industry. With a strong leadership duo and clear international ambitions, the organisation is poised to play a leading role in shaping the future of repair education and workforce development across Europe and beyond.
