Foxway expands circular tech hub in Estonia to be fully integrated by 2027

Foxway, one of Europe’s leading circular tech companies, is set to expand its largest technology center in Tartu, Estonia. The move will consolidate operations and support functions currently divided across two separate buildings into one fully integrated facility on Põhjaringi street. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Tartu emerges as circular tech capital

Located about two hours from Tallinn, Tartu is Estonia’s second-largest city and home to several players in the secondary device market. Alongside Foxway, competitor Ringy also operates in Tartu, making the city a key location for circular electronics activity in the region.

10,000 m² expansion to boost capacity

The expansion will add approximately 10,000 m² to Foxway’s existing Tartu tech center, increasing the total site size to 16,890 m². This development supports Foxway’s plan to process more than five million devices over the next five years in Tartu alone, building on the 2.8 million electronic devices the company resold in 2024.

Efficiency, automation, and ESG compliance

Foxway’s new facility will address several challenges posed by the current split setup. One of the existing buildings requires significant investment to meet ESG-compliant heating standards and suffers from logistical inefficiencies. The new site will offer improved automation potential and more sustainable infrastructure, following the same design principles that shaped the original Põhjaringi building.

Focus on employee wellbeing and sustainability

The expanded center will include full wheelchair accessibility, upgraded bicycle and scooter parking, and additional electric vehicle charging stations. These features according to Foxway shows their commitment to employee wellbeing and long-term environmental goals.

Leadership perspective on the expansion

“This expansion is a strategic leap forward for Foxway,” said CEO Patrick Höijer. “By bringing all functions under one roof, we’re enhancing our operational flow, reducing internal transport time, and setting the stage for future automation. Just as importantly, this move strengthens team collaboration and improves communication by bringing our people together.”
