Flip, the leading refurbished electronics marketplace in the region, and Network One Distribution (NOD), Romania’s main electro-IT distributor, have announced a strategic long-term partnership. The collaboration is dedicated to fostering the circular economy in the technology sector, with a clear focus on reducing electronic waste and providing broader access to high-quality refurbished devices.
Trade-in solution for businesses
The partnership introduces a complete trade-in service for NOD’s partners, enabling companies to return used devices that will then be refurbished and resold via Flip.ro. This initiative seeks to make technology more affordable while minimizing waste through reuse and refurbishment. The process has been designed to remain simple, transparent, and secure for all stakeholders.
Circular Tech Awards
During IFA 2025 Flip participated in the Circular Tech Awards hosted by mobi hub and won 2 awards. One was ‘Best Trade-in Program’. Acccording to Flip “Recognition for our Trade-In Programme reflects the work of our team and partners in building simple, transparent, and valuable solutions for customers and telco networks, helping more devices re-enter the circular economy”.

NOD’s vision for sustainable business
According to Andrei Militaru, Chief Executive Officer at Network One Distribution, the partnership is a natural extension of NOD’s mission. “In the NOD ecosystem, our mission is to offer resellers tools that create real value for end customers. The trade-in service, developed together with Flip, provides companies with a practical and secure solution for managing the recirculation of equipment fleets, with direct benefits in terms of costs and sustainability,” he explained. Militaru added that the initiative aligns with NOD’s strategy to reduce CO₂ emissions and extend product life cycles while promoting responsible and efficient consumption models in the Romanian business environment.
How the process works
NOD partners, acting as legal entities, will be able to access the NOD online platform to quickly assess their fleets of used devices and receive estimated values. Once registered, the equipment is sent via a streamlined logistics process to Flip, where it undergoes professional testing across 67 diagnostic points before a final valuation is provided.
The program accepts a wide range of devices, including Apple iPhones, Apple MacBooks, tablets, smartwatches, and gaming consoles. By creating a reliable and efficient recirculation pathway, Flip and NOD aim to increase trust in refurbished electronics and encourage greater adoption of sustainable practices.
A new step for Flip
Alex Burghelia, co-founder of Flip, highlighted the importance of expanding refurbishment solutions to the B2B segment. “Buyback and refurbishment are no longer just options but real solutions for a healthier technology market. Our collaboration with NOD allows us to extend the impact of this model directly to the B2B segment and transform old equipment into valuable resources. It marks an important stage for Flip in our mission to make technology more accessible and environmentally friendly,” Burghelia said.
This collaboration represents a significant milestone in Romania’s growing shift toward a circular economy in the IT&C industry. By extending product life cycles and reducing CO₂ emissions, both companies are contributing to a more sustainable technological future.
