Fairphone, the Dutch company known for prioritising sustainability and fairness in production, is set to launch the Fairphone 6 on June 25, 2025. The device continues the company’s tradition of modular design, allowing for easier repairs and upgrades. Positioned as a mid-range alternative to dominant players like Apple and Samsung, the phone is priced at € 549, according to German website WinFuture. Customers don’t choose a Fairphone for cutting-edge specs, but for its sustainability and that remains true for the Fairphone 6.
Modern display and build quality
The Fairphone 6 comes with a 6.31-inch P-OLED LTPO display offering adaptive refresh rates from 1 to 120Hz. With a resolution of 2484 x 1116 pixels and 432 PPI, the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, similar to panels used in premium foldable devices.
Efficient performance and connectivity
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, the phone supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 2TB via MicroSD. The battery capacity is 4.415 mAh and supports 33W fast charging through USB PowerDelivery.
Improved camera capabilities
The Fairphone 6 includes a 50MP main camera with a large f/1.56 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120° field of view, and a 32MP front-facing camera. These upgrades mark a significant improvement in imaging for the brand.
More standardised technology choices
Unlike previous models that used components designed for IoT devices, the Fairphone 6 now features a conventional smartphone chipset, benefiting from extended support by Google and Qualcomm. This makes the device more competitive while maintaining its ethical production standards.
Built to last and be fair
As with earlier Fairphone models, the Fairphone 6 is built with ethically sourced materials and designed for longevity. The company continues to advocate for fair labour practices, modular sustainability, and electronic waste reduction in the smartphone industry.
