Elkjøp Nordic and 3stepIT have entered a strategic partnership aimed at simplifying how businesses acquire, use, and dispose of IT and technology equipment. The collaboration spans Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, leveraging Elkjøp’s digital channels and B2B advisors. In Sweden, Elkjøp operates under the Elgiganten brand.
Combining distribution and lifecycle expertise
The partnership merges Elkjøp’s distribution strength, product portfolio, and B2B focus with 3stepIT’s expertise in technology lifecycle management (TLM), financing, and reuse. The agreement targets businesses of all size, from small companies with 1–20 employees to large organizations and public authorities, providing flexible and sustainable IT solutions.
Dual customer journeys introduced
The collaboration follows two parallel customer journeys. One caters to smaller, individual transactions, typically mobile phones such as Apple iPhone models and computers. Leasing is offered via relevant sales channels and automated through 3stepIT’s LeaseCloud platform, featuring express approval and standardized terms.
The second journey addresses medium and large clients in both private and public sectors. Here, Elkjøp provides the IT equipment, services, and warranty programs, while 3stepIT contributes financing expertise and advisory support throughout the sales process. Together, the partners aim to significantly increase leasing volumes in the coming years.
About Elkjøp
Elkjøp is the leading consumer electronics retailer in the Nordics, founded in Norway in 1962. It sells electronics, appliances, and kitchens across Norway, Sweden (Elgiganten), Denmark, and Finland (Gigantti). The company is owned by the multinational retailer Currys plc and operates over 400 omnichannel stores.
Sustainability drives the partnership
A key aspect of the collaboration is extending the lifespan of equipment through repair, refurbishment, and resale. Returned devices are processed through 3stepIT’s Nordic logistics centers, where they are data-wiped, cleaned, and prepared for reuse or recycling. This approach aligns with circular economy principles and EU environmental regulations.
Shared vision for responsible technology
Both Elkjøp and 3stepIT emphasize sustainability and responsible IT usage. By enabling businesses to optimize equipment lifecycle and lower costs, the partnership also helps reduce carbon footprints and e-waste. Peer Velde, CEO of 3stepIT Norway, highlighted the dual benefits of cost savings and climate impact reduction.
About 3stepIT
