Turkish EasyCep reports robust growth in 2024

In a recent interview with NatureWorldNews Turkish EasyCep’s CEO Mehmet Akif Özdemir gives a bit more insight on the company’s achievements in 2024. EasyCep is the largest reseller of used and refurbished devices in their homeland what more a less a closed market is. In 2024, EasyCep achieved a remarkable revenue growht but details are not shared. Additionally, the company secured €10.6 million in its Series A funding round, bolstering its ability to expand operations and innovate in the rapidly growing secondary electronics market. Supported by 314 employees and a network of 200 stores, EasyCep has established itself as a key player in the Turkish secondary market.

Renewing and refurbishing devices to promote the circular economy

Founded in 2018 by Mehmet Akif Özdemir and İsmail Dinçer, EasyCep specializes in refurbishing smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smartwatches. By promoting a circular economy, the company has renewed over 400,000 devices and is targeting an additional 340,000 refurbished devices by the end of 2024. Through these efforts, EasyCep has saved over 13,000 tons of CO2 emissions and is on track to recycle approximately 21,000 kilograms of waste batteries this year.

One of EasyCep’s standout initiatives is the “Sell Your Device” campaign, which empowers consumers to contribute to the circular economy by trading in their old devices. This initiative not only fosters responsible consumption but also ensures that used devices are repurposed effectively.

Global expansion strengthens EasyCep’s sustainability strategy

EasyCep has extended its footprint beyond Turkey, entering markets in Qatar and Azerbaijan. These expansions are part of a broader strategy to replicate its successful model in regions where the circular economy can drive both environmental and economic benefits. By organizing and regulating the second-hand smartphone market, the company aims to build a sustainable, responsible consumer base.

The company’s focus on refining its buyback and refurbishment processes ensures sustainability is integrated into every stage of its operations. This approach aligns with EasyCep’s long-term vision of advancing the global circular economy while meeting growing consumer demand for refurbished electronics.

Preparing for future challenges with AI and robotics

EasyCep is preparing for the next wave of sustainability challenges by exploring the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics into its operations. These technologies promise to enhance efficiency in quality control and refurbishing processes.
