Dutch EyeTi acquires IT Recycling

EyeTi, based in the Netherlands, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring IT Recycling, a specialist in sustainable and secure hardware processing. This acquisition aligns seamlessly with EyeTi’s, that also owns Apple distributor ProWarehouse and Apple repair company Microfix, goals for sustainability and circularity, reinforcing its expertise and market position. IT Recycling, also based in the Netherlands, has over 20 years of experience in secure data destruction and processing old hardware for the business sector. The company focuses on recycling as much material as possible, currently achieving over 90% recycling rates. This is accomplished through hardware reuse or recovering components like metal and plastic. Clients can confidently dispose of their hardware with IT Recycling, knowing that data is destroyed meticulously, even on-site if required. The company’s high quality and service standards are demonstrated by its ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001 certifications. Additionally, IT Recycling is one of the few recycling companies in the Netherlands certified under WEEELABEX.

A step toward sustainable ambitions

The acquisition of IT Recycling perfectly aligns with EyeTi’s mission to leverage IT for a better world. Tom Coehorst, director of EyeTi, states, “By integrating IT Recycling into our group, we take a significant step in our strategy to become a leading player in sustainable and circular IT. By combining our strengths, we can not only support our clients in maximizing the use of their IT equipment but also ensure its responsible and sustainable disposal.”

IT Recycling is equally optimistic about the acquisition, seeing numerous opportunities. Steef Stadelmaier, director of IT Recycling, explains, “Being acquired by EyeTi opens many new doors for us. Collaborating with other EyeTi companies creates fantastic opportunities to further optimize and expand the sustainable services we already provide. We share the same vision for sustainability and innovation, and I am confident this collaboration will greatly benefit both our clients and employees.”

Continuing the sustainable journey

IT Recycling will continue to operate as an independent entity within EyeTi. Existing clients and employees will see minimal changes due to the acquisition, with services remaining consistent and all staff retained. With IT Recycling’s expertise, EyeTi aims to accelerate its ambitious goals for sustainability and circularity, driving forward toward a brighter, more sustainable future.
