Cordon Group, a leading European player in electronics repair, refurbishment and lifecycle services, has published its 2024-2025 ESG report, outlining ambitious sustainability objectives. The company recorded over € 450 million in revenue during 2024, employing more than 4000 people across 38 locations in 13 countries. These facilities processed a remarkable 29 million devices, underlining Cordon Group’s scale and relevance in the secondary electronics market.

Four pillars drive sustainability goals
The ESG report is structured around four core pillars: environment, social, ethics, and responsible purchasing. Cordon Group’s long-term vision is to make electronics more sustainable while creating quality jobs within a field of excellence. This approach highlights the company’s central role in the circular economy, especially within Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) management.

Circular economy at the core
Cordon Group’s business model continues to prioritize maintenance, repair, and industrial refurbishment as critical elements in extending the life of electronic devices, including popular products such as Apple iPhones. These services are not only cost-effective for partners but also central to reducing electronic waste. The company stresses that integrating innovation, inclusion, ethics, and material sobriety, particularly concerning rare earth elements, will remain a cornerstone of its strategy.
Ambitious environmental objectives for 2025
The 2025 environmental goals include achieving an 85% reuse rate for plastic materials, reducing CO2 emissions by 15% per product shipped, and raising the share of renewable energy use to 70%. Additionally, a 30% reduction in water consumption is targeted across a four-year period. Progress has already been significant, with Cordon exceeding its reuse goal in 2024, reaching 87%, while also cutting CO2 emissions per product shipped by 10% compared with 2023.

Social and governance commitments
Beyond environmental goals, Cordon Group is also focused on strengthening diversity, inclusion, and supplier responsibility. By 2025, the company aims for inclusive employment to represent 30% of its workforce, with women comprising 50% of employees and 35% of management roles. On the supplier side, the goal is for 90% of significant partners to adhere to Cordon’s ESG code of conduct.
Alignment with international frameworks
Cordon’s ESG strategy is closely aligned with the UN Global Compact principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company has also expanded its focus to include IT security, biodiversity, and water management, reflecting a more holistic approach to sustainability.
