Circular IT Group (CITg) has released its 2024 Impact Report, positioning its business model, built around IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), Re-Commerce, and IT Asset Management (ITAM), as a cornerstone of both sustainability and cost-efficiency in the IT sector. The report reinforces CITg’s ambition to become the European leader in circular IT, meeting the growing demand in the global IT secondary market. As organizations continue to face increasing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) pressures, CITg’s approach offers a compelling alternative to traditional IT procurement. Its scalable and secure model demonstrates that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand.
CITg strengthens position through financial growth
CITg’s 2024 report highlights impressive financial and operational performance. The group achieved net revenues of €115 million, a strong indicator of the growing appetite for circular IT services among global businesses. With over 10,000 B2B customers worldwide, CITg provides complete lifecycle services across ITAD, ITAM, Distribution, Network, Server, Storage, and Computing/Mobile categories. Its ITAD operations include certified data erasure to standards such as NIST, ensuring that hardware entering the secondary market is both secure and compliant.
CITg’s integrated model is designed to maximize both cost-efficiency and regulatory compliance, making it an attractive partner for organizations navigating new sustainability frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
Circular model delivers measurable environmental gains
The report emphasizes CITg’s environmental impact through reuse, refurbishment, and responsible recycling. By extending the lifespan of IT products, the group helps customers significantly reduce emissions associated with new manufacturing. In 2024, CITg’s activities avoided 20,307 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e), directly linked to the reuse of IT assets. Operational emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3 combined) fell by 21% compared to 2023, reflecting continuous efficiency improvements.
The group also recycled 1,392,077 kilograms of material responsibly, ensuring that end-of-life devices were processed in accordance with strict environmental standards. Beyond environmental stewardship, CITg addressed digital inclusion by donating over 38,000 laptops to schools and NGOs, helping reduce the digital divide.
Outlook: Scaling sustainability and transparency
Looking ahead, CITg’s strategy centers on scaling its circular services and reinforcing its commitment to data transparency. As sustainability regulations tighten, CITg aims to help customers make compliant, traceable, and cost-efficient IT decisions. The 2024 Impact Report confirms that ITAD and Re-Commerce are no longer niche services but essential components of a sustainable IT strategy. By combining operational excellence with measurable climate action, CITg continues to prove that circular IT is not only environmentally necessary but also economically sound.
