Refurbisher Breezy, partly owned by distributor ASBIS, has officially joined the European Commission-driven Industry 5.0 Community of Practice (CoP 5.0). This development follows the company’s recent launch of an AI-powered robotic line in Poland, designed to grade and upgrade pre-owned devices. CoP 5.0 brings together a broad range of European stakeholders to exchange best practices, develop Industry 5.0 implementation strategies, and enhance cooperation. This initiative supports local, regional, and European entities in advancing Industry 5.0 principles—an approach Breezy actively applies in its fully automated and robotised Polish production facility.
A new vision for manufacturing
Industry 5.0 extends beyond efficiency and productivity to emphasize a broader societal contribution. It prioritizes worker well-being, integrating technology to enhance prosperity while maintaining environmental responsibility. Andrii Kosar, CEO of Breezy, stated: "We are pleased to join the European Commission's Industry 5.0 Community of Practice. This platform fosters collaboration in green and digital transitions, reinforcing human-centricity, sustainability, and resilience—values central to Breezy’s mission. We look forward to contributing to CoP 5.0 objectives in 2025, particularly in co-developing the Business Case 5.0 for Sustainable Competitiveness and advancing place-based innovation through HUBS 5.0."
Human-centric and efficient production
Industry 5.0 promotes collaboration between humans and robotic systems. Breezy’s facility features collaborative robots, automated lines, and AI-driven systems handling repetitive tasks, enabling employees to focus on repairs and customer interactions. The company’s state-of-the-art grading and sorting line operates with 18 robotic workstations, requiring just four human operators per shift. AI-driven processes allow the facility to grade and upgrade up to 1,000,000 devices annually, significantly boosting accuracy and output.
Sustainability as a core principle
Industry 5.0 integrates technology for societal and environmental benefits. Breezy’s new production line reduces electronic waste, cuts CO2 emissions, and makes technology more accessible. By emphasizing circular economy principles, the company aligns with the broader European sustainability agenda.
Enhancing business resilience
Industry 5.0 solutions improve operational efficiency, reducing errors, labor costs, and processing times. Breezy’s approach ensures competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Furthermore, by providing comprehensive product information, Breezy strengthens customer trust—addressing a key challenge in the secondary market.
