As April begins, American reseller of used and refurbished devices, Swappa, has released its sales data for March 2025, once again highlighting the strong position of Apple iPhones in the secondary smartphone market. The top-selling devices last month were all from Apple, with the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 12 taking the top three positions respectively. The Apple iPhone 11, released in 2019, continues to show impressive resilience. Despite being over five years old, it secured the fifth spot on Swappa’s March list. In fact, the iPhone 11 was the third best-selling phone on the platform in 2024, proving its lasting popularity.
Apple models from 2019 to 2023
The March list featured Apple iPhones spanning five generations: the iPhone 11 (2019), iPhone 12 (2020), iPhone 13 (2021), iPhone 14 (2022), and iPhone 15 (2023). This reflects a broad consumer demand for recent models, balancing affordability with performance.

Apple’s secondary market strength
Swappa’s latest figures reinforce Apple’s stronghold in the used device market. The combination of long-term software support, brand loyalty, and hardware durability continues to give Apple a competitive edge among refurbished and pre-owned smartphones.
Why Apple devices retain value
Apple’s ecosystem, ongoing updates, and perceived quality are key drivers of its resale success. For consumers seeking reliable second-hand smartphones, Apple iPhones remain a top choice across Europe and beyond.
