Aplong introduces 30-minute Apple iPhone assembly for refurbishment and repair

Aplong Technology, a Shenzhen-based spare parts manufacturer, has unveiled an innovative solution that enables technicians to assemble a fully functional Apple iPhone in just 30 minutes. This marks a significant leap compared to the market standard of a minimum 60 minutes. The company credits this achievement to the use of high-quality components that are pre-integrated and optimized for efficiency, effectively setting a new benchmark in the global refurbishment and repair market. In practice, the approach comes close to a modular style of repair.

Founded in 2010, Aplong has grown steadily over the past 15 years, establishing operations in China, Dubai, and most recently, the Netherlands. Its expansion into Europe, supported by a new office and warehouse, highlights its ambition to serve refurbishers and repair companies with faster and more reliable supply.

Why 30 minutes matter

The average time to assemble a full device in today’s repair industry is well above the 60 minutes. Checking individual smaller components and assembling these takes quite some time as well. Aplong’s process reduces that to 30 minutes, delivering a time saving of around 50%, as all the groundwork has been done by Aplong. For refurbishers handling large volumes of Apple iPhones, the impact is substantial. Faster assembly translates to higher throughput, reduced costs, and better use of skilled labour.

According to Rui Du, who oversees operations from Aplong’s Dutch office, the result is not only speed but also reliability. “Our approach ensures technicians who can consistently deliver high-quality work without being slowed down by sourcing or fitting loose parts,”

The role of pre-integrated back covers or housing

One of the defining elements of Aplong’s solution is the back cover or housing, pre-installed with all essential small components such as buttons, brackets, and flex cables. The frame itself is refurbished and original, ensuring both sustainability and authenticity. This eliminates multiple assembly steps and significantly simplifies the technician’s work. As Aplong, for smaller components, only original parts that are checked one by one, giving customers peace of mind. The frames of the back covers all have a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) that covers up scratches and dents and make them look like new.

Because Aplong manages import responsibilities and maintains stock within the EU, repair businesses can rely on quick delivery and minimal logistical risk. The availability of back covers in Europe also helps reduce shipping times and customs delays, providing a clear advantage over sourcing directly from Asia.

Batteries designed for efficiency

Aplong batteries are engineered for quick installation. They connect directly without the need for soldering, and unlike many aftermarket alternatives, they do not trigger pop-up error messages. Each unit can be run through diagnostic software for verification, ensuring technicians maintain confidence in both quality and compatibility.

This approach addresses one of the most common frustrations in the refurbishment market, where inconsistent battery performance can cause returns and reduce customer trust. Rui Du on this; “We have distilled out of customers’ data that our batteries function consistently and we have lower than market RMA percentage”.

Premium screens with diagnostic capability

Another core component of the 30-minute assembly process is Aplong’s premium display. These screens are designed for accurate alignment and minimal adjustment, reducing the time needed for fitting. With support for 120 Hz refresh rates and diagnostic functionality, they meet the demands of modern devices.

Technicians benefit from reduced calibration time, while customers receive a product that mirrors the quality of original displays. For Apple iPhone users in particular, the importance of a seamless screen replacement cannot be overstated.

Camera modules complete the package

In addition to back covers, batteries, and screens, Aplong also supplies high-quality camera modules. These are designed for quick installation and strict performance standards, ensuring that refurbished devices retain functionality comparable to new models. By covering all four essential elements of phone assembly, Aplong provides repairers with a complete solution that eliminates guesswork and inconsistency.

Supporting the circular economy

Aplong’s model aligns with circular economy principles by maximizing reuse and reducing waste. The use of refurbished frames, coupled with high-quality spare parts, helps extend the lifespan of devices and keeps them in circulation longer. This not only benefits repair companies but also supports global sustainability goals. Aplong offers a buy back service for components to their customers. The back covers that are recovered this way are a prime example of this sustainable service.

By enabling technicians to work faster and more efficiently, Aplong strengthens the economics of repair and refurbishment. Lower assembly times increase profitability, making the secondary smartphone market more competitive and accessible.

European expansion strengthens supply chain

The company’s expansion into the Netherlands, already since 2 years, allows it to better serve European partners. With invoicing, returns, and buy-backs managed locally, customers benefit from simplified processes and reduced shipping times.

“Our expansion into the Netherlands is an important step in our strategy to serve the entire European region,” says Rui Du. “We can now deliver high-quality spare parts directly from within Europe, reducing costs and making it easier for customers to work with us.”

A reliable partner for repair companies

With over 15 years of experience, Aplong has built a reputation for quality and reliability. Its combination of innovative engineering, sustainable sourcing, and efficient logistics positions the company as a valuable partner for refurbishers and repair firms worldwide.

The ability to assemble a fully functional Apple iPhone in 30 minutes is more than a technical achievement. It represents a strategic advantage for businesses that need to move quickly in a competitive secondary market.
