As global demand for mobile phone parts continues to rise, Aplong, a leading spare parts distributor headquartered in Shenzhen, China, has been making waves in the industry. With a solid reputation built over 15 years, the company is known for delivering high-quality parts and embracing sustainable practices. Aplong’s recent further expansion into the European market, marked by the opening of their new office and warehouse in the Netherlands, signals their continued growth and commitment to serving the needs of repair and refurbishment companies. With North America as their next target, Aplong is poised to become a global leader in mobile phone part distribution.
Expansion into Europe
Founded in 2010, Aplong began operations in China, steadily growing its presence to include key locations in Dubai and, most recently, the Netherlands. Although already a well-know and longstanding supplier of partners into Europe, this strategic move into Europe allows Aplong to manage its supply chain more efficiently and provide better service to its growing base of European customers. Aplong's current Dubai operation, which maintains its own inventory and actively buying-back from the market, mirrors the service model of the new European setup.
According to Rui Du, who manages operations from the Dutch office, Aplong now uses their European hub for invoicing, returns, and buy-backs. This makes transactions smoother for EU clients, many of whom prefer to source parts locally. “Our expansion into the Netherlands is an important step in our strategy to serve the entire European region,” Du explains. “It allows us to meet the growing demand for high-quality spare parts while also providing localized services, such as the shipping of back covers directly from within the EU.”
With 280 employees worldwide and the capability to sell 3 million parts annually, Aplong’s Dutch office will continue to play a crucial role in servicing Europe’s repair and refurbishing industry. Customers range from large refurbishment companies to repair chains, all of whom depend on Aplong’s consistent quality.
Sustainability and innovation at the core
Aplong’s success is not just driven by their ability to meet demand, but by their commitment to sustainability. The company is heavily involved in the circular economy, buying back parts such as screens, back covers, and cameras from both new and existing customers. “We also refurbish parts in China, extending the lifecycle of these components,” says Du. “This not only helps reduce waste but allows us to offer high-quality refurbished parts to our customers, who are looking for more sustainable options.”
Aplong’s product offerings span a wide range of components, including screens, batteries, back covers, cameras, and flex cables. Their best-selling items include changed-glass and soft-OLED screens, but they also provide various options for batteries and other high-demand parts. By catering to both high-end refurbishers and larger repair chains, Aplong ensures that their clients have access to parts in multiple qualities, depending on their specific needs.
Next Stop: North America
Looking ahead, Aplong’s next big move is expanding into the North American market. The company is already in discussions with major U.S. clients and sees enormous potential in the region. “Our goal is to become a key player in the refurbishing and repair industry as we are in Europe but also in the U.S. and beyond,” Du notes. With top-tier clients already onboard in Europe and plans to introduce an ERP system to streamline ordering and stock synchronization, Aplong is setting the stage for even more efficient and scalable operations.
Staying ahead of the competition
What sets Aplong apart from competitors is their focus on quality and sustainability, rather than just machinery or volume. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Aplong has built a reputation for reliability and consistency, two qualities that customers in the repair and refurbishing sector rely on.
Aplong’s Dutch office not only strengthens its European operations but positions the company to lead the way in the growing market for mobile phone parts. By expanding its footprint in Europe and preparing for North America, Aplong is well on its way to becoming a global leader in the sustainable distribution of mobile phone parts.
