Amac becomes first authorized Apple reseller in Europe to repair iPads in-house

Dutch Apple reseller Amac has become the first in Europe officially licensed by Apple to carry out in-house repairs on iPads using original Apple parts. The repair service is performed by specially trained technicians at Amac’s central service facility, located in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

A milestone in Apple iPad servicing

Amac already conducts around 45,000 Apple device repairs annually, primarily focusing on Apple iPhones and MacBooks. Until now, damaged iPads were sent directly to Apple due to the complexity of their design, including fragile internal cables, larger screens, and sensitive batteries. With the latest generation of iPads featuring a revised internal layout, Amac can now handle these repairs independently.

Improving lifespan and reducing e-waste

According to managing director Roelof de Rijk, the ability to repair iPads locally benefits both customers and the environment. “We extend the lifespan of iPads, save costs for our customers, and help reduce electronic waste,” he said.

Expert repairs with warranty protection

Paul Boomgaard, Apple Repair Manager at Amac, emphasizes the precision involved in iPad repairs. “An iPad contains hundreds of parts, and fixing them requires craftsmanship,” he noted. Repairs using genuine Apple components ensure the device functions optimally and maintain full Apple warranty coverage, a point often misunderstood by consumers.

Nationwide accessibility for customers

Customers can drop off their damaged iPads at any of Amac’s 47 retail locations across the Netherlands. Repairs are centralized at The Wall in Utrecht, where 25 technicians work daily. Amac, one of the few Apple Authorised Service Providers in the country, has steadily expanded its repair services, including direct in-store repairs for Apple iPhones and MacBooks at 17 locations.

Fast service through in-store parts

To further enhance service speed, Amac has increased the inventory of spare parts at its retail outlets. This allows a higher share of customers to receive on-the-spot repairs, reducing wait times and improving customer satisfaction.
