India: company reveals new budget friendly smartphone with refurbished components

The upcoming AI+ Nova 2 5G smartphone has been released. This new model, from the AI+ brand under NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, is led by former Realme and Honor executive Madhav Sheth. The device will be part of the Nova series, which officially launches in India on June 25. The Nova series highlights environmental responsibility, using refurbished components to reduce electronic waste. The phones will be assembled in India by Ismartu as part of the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative.

Glossy finish and dual cameras

Released images showcases a glossy rear panel with a camera island in the top-left corner. The setup includes an LED flash and two cameras, accompanied by the text "Matrix AI Camera," pointing to AI-enhanced photography capabilities. Visible from the device's protective sticker, the AI+ Nova 2 5G will feature dual-SIM support, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. NxtQuantum has yet to confirm whether additional memory variants will be available at launch.

Pricing targeted at affordability

According to AI+, the Nova series will consist of three models priced between € 50 and € 80. These smartphones aim to bring 5G connectivity and AI features to budget-conscious Indian consumers. The Nova 2 5G and its siblings are positioned as “affordable AI-powered 5G smartphones” with a focus on accessibility and performance.

NxtQuantum OS designed for India

AI+ devices will run on NxtQuantum OS, which has been developed by Indian engineers to deliver a user-friendly experience optimized for local usage patterns. Retail availability will include Flipkart and offline partners.
